Cutting my teeth in the house party and underground techno scene of Manchester in 2012, I produced music relentlessly over the next decade under a succession of aliases. I’ve never wanted to tread the same ground twice, so as each season of my life passed, it felt right to move on to something new.

I released two vinyl singles as Lockyear through the Belgian imprint OTB Records (https://ra.co/reviews/18443). From 2016 to 2019 I ran a night called AM Trips with Max Self (https://ra.co/promoters/64010). Over those years we brought over artists like Lowtec, Junkie Inoue, Bjorne Torske and Fantastic Man.

Around that time, my wife and I, then still my girlfriend, spent a year travelling through Asia and India, which pulled me out of whatever orbit I was in at the time. Upon return, Lockyear felt dormant and Aom appeared.

My first album, Eat the Fruit was released as Aom, (https://iamaom.bandcamp.com/album/eat-the-fruit),                                                              followed by a string of singles, Rising / Falling and, more recently,                                                                                                                           Water Boatmen on Mantissa Records (https://mantissa.bandcamp.com/track/water-boatmen).

In the years since Rising / Falling, I’ve produced nearly 400 tracks, most of which will remain unfinished on my hard drive.

The sharpest signals from this period have made their way onto my new album, released, as always, under a new alias: Sound of Aom.

I believe it’s my best work to date.

And the next album is already taking shape.

Between genres, on fresh snow.
